"EMBELLISHMENT OF AN EXISTING PETROL STATION AND ITS SURROUNDINGS"
At the request of several members, based on the observation that petrol stations and motorway service areas are the poor cousins of architecture, La Table Ronde de l'Architecture has decided to launch a new competition: The project should consist of at least one perspective drawing (by hand or computer) depicting a new petrol station and its charming surroundings.
Participants are asked to highlight the local architectural features of their project and to mention the exact location.
All projects will be sent by us to a series of energy groups that own gas stations in the hope that they will be realised.
The authors of the three best projects will receive drawing materials, natural pigments and a set of reference books on architecture and construction.
All projects will be exhibited in 2023 in the cities of Bruges and Ghent during the second edition of L'ARCHE architecture exhibition.
The projects should be sent before 10 March to the following address: contact@latablerondearchitecture.com, scanned in Jpeg (square shape for Instagram) mentioning the name of the participant, nationality and a brief description of the project (max 400 words).
The original drawing should be dropped off at or posted to: La Table Ronde de l’Architecture asbl, Sint-Annarei 13, 8000 Bruges, Belgium. We recommend sending your drawing rolled up in a sturdy carton tube.
A vote will be organized on Instagram from 12 to 19 March to decide between the projects !
